I spent over 35 years in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, working in London and overseas, across a diverse array of disciplines. After taking early retirement, I decided to put to good use the skills I learned throughout my career – in particular, writing, in plain English, concise, accurate and well-written reports, briefing material and other documents for FCO Ministers and Senior officials.
In my second career as a proofreader, I have in recent months proofread a range of magazine articles, book manuscripts, as well as editing for the past 4-5 years the website and promotional literature of my local golf club.
